Proud Hockey Dad is So Relatable He’ll Make You Cry

I was filled with love for my children the moment I knew they existed. All parents feel that, and it’s not at all an earth-shattering statement to make.

What I wasn’t expecting was how much more pride I would take in my kid’s achievements than my own. Seeing them have success at something, big or small, fills me with a kind of pride I don’t feel anywhere else. There’s literally nothing like it. Anyone that has experienced this knows what I’m talking about. I won’t continue to try to describe the feeling because there aren’t words for it anyway.

That’s what I was thinking about when I saw this video of a dad the instant he learns his son made the Olympic hockey team. I could feel him beaming through my device, and for a moment, I was a little jealous of him. If you know the feeling I’m talking about, you will be too.

Bobby Butler telling his dad he made the US Olympic team... What a moment
